Baking.

I am not sure if I ever mentioned this in a blog, but I love to bake all kinds of delectibles; cakes, cookies, fudge, pies..... but up until this past friday I had a oven that wasn't the working the way I wanted it too.
When I first moved into my apartment, the guy who lived here before me left his stove, great! It was one of those great retro ones from the 1950's. I loved it right away and to be honest I figured I would never get rid of it! But then I found out that I couldn't get a grip in the temperatures inside the oven, which made baking extremely hard. It would happen that I would have a burned cake on the outside and mush on the inside... short said I burned a lot of things.
But one day my friend was telling me they were going to change their kitchen and so I asked if I could have her stove....since I knew hers was in perfect working condition....
Friday she brought over the stove, since I don't have a car, and of course the minute she left I had to start trying it out... and oh boy I started with a Chocolate fudgy cake, and it came out awesome. After that I immediately baked a Lemon poppy seed cake, which always gives me a hard time and so it did this time as well, but still I know what adjustments I have to make for next time since it fell. I still made sure it ended up in my freezer though for when we feel like eating it. And now today I made chocolate chip cookies and snickerdoodles from scratch. They turned out great again. Tomorrow I will be making another batch of chocolate chip cookies and put the in the freezer. I love freezing cookies and taking them out whenever you feel like it, this way they don't go bad, and well you never eat them all in one go!
This is so exciting.......
