Quilting.

I started a new hobby not to long ago, it has been something I wanted to do for a while now....quilting. I have always loved how it looks on beds etc, so after Christmas I decided that I was going to try this. My first idea was to use a sewingmachine to attach all the little pieces together, but since I am too lazy to figure out this new old sewingmachine that I have now, I decided to sew the pieces together by hand. What a work, but darn it is fun, it is so cool to see something neat coming from your own hands. I wanted to start with a pillowcase for the 4th of July, so I picked reds and blues and some beige old fashioned colors. The middle part is done now, it just needs the edging, and the back, but it looks so neat. I am very proud of myself. Ofcourse it isn't perfect, but really is it supposed to be?????
Tonight I started with another square with the same colors, so instead of 1 I will soon have 2 4th of July pillowcases.... and who knows maybe I will end up making a quilt..but for now I am just experimenting with the tinier squares.
Somehow it is relaxing to do something that you don't have to think about.
