Not sure if I have writen about happiness, or if I am repeating myself but here I go.
Happiness is something you have to create yourself, it is a mindset. Of course life will throw us curveballs, but it is up to us to catch them and make the best out of it.
Happiness comes in many different forms. It can be the little things, it can be the big things, but it can also be the things that aren't necessarily affecting your life, that can still bring you joy.
I love seeing my collegue pregnant, it makes me happy to see her like that, since I know how hard the road has been to her pregnancy. I love the 11 month old son of my friend, he has those big eyes and just looks at you and starts laughing, awesome.
The question then becomes; howcome we are always thinking that the big life-altering stuff will make us happy? Is it because we can grip it better? Because it somehow seems more real? Is it because of materialism that sneaked into our lives?
But what about just spending time with the people you care about? Play games with friends, and just laugh at the simpleness of it? creating things.
Happiness isn't in the things we do or buy, what we have or don't have...
happiness just is....
Well said my friend!!
ReplyDeleteThis pretty much states how I feel about our friendship. I couldn't have had a better time with you last summer even if we were on some tropical island or staying in a 5 star hotel. I can't wait to see you again! I can't wait until you meet Vernon! :)
ReplyDeleteFinishing your last class on Friday afternoon and knowing you don't have to go anywhere that weekend!
ReplyDeleteYour boyfriends bringing you breakfast in bed.
The sun shining beautifully into a window.
Snow falling.
The list goes on, doesn't it?
We just forget sometimes. Thank you for reminding me.
