weekends

How come we all live for the weekend? I mean honestly we work 5 days out of the week (well most of us) and we only have 2 days a week off (usually the weekend). And somehow we always look forward to not working and forget to live during those working days. Yes the weekend is awesome, it gives us time to meet up with friends, do some shopping, go out, etc. We have time. But then again, we can enjoy the week as well, we still have the evenings to ourselves to do whatever we want to do. To enjoy our lives, but still somehow we don't.

I have to be honest here, I do it as well. Live for the weekends, and forget to enjoy myself during the week. Especially in this fast paced life here in Europe. When I was still living in New Mexico, it seemed like I had more time. I did stuff during the week, it just seemed easier, more relaxed. There seemed to be no rush during the week, and don't get me wrong, I still had to work, go to class and study, but still. There seemed to be more time... just to go see a movie during the week. Ha during the week people. I never go see a movie during the week here in Europe, no time, too exhausted, don't feel like it, too cold, too far away, and many more excuses similar to the ones mentioned. But that is also why all of a sudden we start focussing on the weekends instead of the whole week.

Mmm maybe I just need some warmth and sun again......

  1. Wow! You are so right! Well it just so happens that starting next week I will be getting together with a friend to work out, twice a week after work. We do need to appreciate our weekdays. Thanks for the reminder. Miss you! xoxo

  2. Warmth and sun......yes, that would be lovely!

It's difficult, trying to get the most out of your weekdays. Most of the time they are just filled with work too much, or too damned hard and all you want to do is go horizontal on the couch for the rest of the day!
I'm trying to get the most out of my weekdays now by reading on the train. That way I don't feel the travelling is part of the job. Small thing, but it helps.
