Mother In Law

I love my mother-in-law! I love talking to her, she is always working on a project; which could be anything from baking, sewing, crocheting, painting or cross-stitching. As some of you might already know, my mother-in-law lives in the USA, whereas we live in the Netherlands. So most of the time we just talk on the phone, and when we talk, we talk about the projects we are working on. Although, she is usually the one working on projects at high speed, where as I most of the time don't have a lot of time to work on anything.

When we talk, I always want to know what she is working on, and she will start off on a passionate detailed recollection of what her project looks like, what she is planning on working when this project is done, and of course about crochet patterns she saw in a new book my aunt-in-law bought. I will try to look up the book and the pictures that go with the future projects she is talking about to get a picture ( gotta love internet for these kinds of things). This kind of conversation makes me smile, it makes me feel all warm and fluffy inside, and it makes me wanna dive head first into projects as well. She is just always so uplifting with her stories about projects.

I really wish I could spend more time with her. And work on projects together, but obviously that is kind of hard living on opposite sides of the world! I do think about her, with every project I do ( and which takes forever to finish, since I always decide to start three more projects right after I started the one project). When she talks about a baking recipe that she tried out, I want to start baking. Seriously she can bake awesome things ( ode to her
Kitchenaid, I NEED ONE AS WELL) ((note the use of the word need, instead of using the word want)).

Yep I am one lucky daughter-in-law to have a great mother-in-law! I so love her!!!!

  1. I know how you feel. I adore my English mum and she makes me feel so loved. I want to cook with her, she always has a nice spread whenever we go over there. There is always something really good to eat. I want to learn how to make her Apple Crumble. She even peels fresh apples. I never cook like that. I'm a whiz with a can opener! LOL
