dream of the day

I have always dreamed of one day owning one of those old Southern homes, with a porch going all the way around the house... rocking chairs and lots of flowers on that porch. Where you can sit in the shade but still feel the warmth of summer surrounding you like a blanket. Crickets in the background, slices of watermelon for lunch....

The white picket fence, with the rose bushes growing up against it, the subtle sweet smell.

And then the inside... dark hard wood flooring or natural tiles, big rooms with nothing modern, but just the

older furniture, that has been used lived in, gives off that feeling of warmth, comfort; I want it

make everybody feel at home, loved, welcome.....

And then we haven't even talked about the kitchen; wooden cabinets, lavender hanging from

the ceiling. A big stove for cooking....

Inviting Space

wow, isn't it starting to look inviting... all I need now is a lovely 4-poster bed, a home-made quilt,

a fireplace for when it is cold in the wintertime...

Somehow there is a smell around this dreamhouse of fresh baked apple pie, homy once more....

Isn't it lovely to dream about these things, things we will more then likely never have... but on

this evening just by thinking about it, makes me feel warm inside....

  1. I love porches and porch swings. My dream is to find a few acres in the English countryside and build an "American" home like this. Would be the best of both worlds. Oh... and Madonna would be our neighbor... LOL! That's a joke I tell to Vernon all the time and he just frowns at me lovingly. :)I don't think he wants to be Madonna's neighbor.
